#CanCantDont – Mint Nails

mint green nails

Christina – Now that Spring has sprung I’m loving all sorts of pastel nails. Mint green is one of those colours that seems to work with all skintones and is popular every year. For this week’s CanCantDont I used Cheeky nail paint in Minted and I love it. Two coats built to a great colour and the thick brush made painting my nails really easy and fast. My love of mint nails has been reignited. This is a definite winner for me.

Elaine – Mint green is one of my favourite nail colours but I don’t feel quite right wearing it over the winter months in cold, grey London. However now that the sun is finally making an appearance again it is the perfect time to dust off the bottles that have been languishing in the bottom of my drawer for 6 months. I used shade 389 by KIKO for today’s Can Can’t Don’t and it’s a lovely bright pop of colour. Admittedly it is more of a turquoise than a mint, but rules are made to be broken.

Lizzy – The sun is out! Hoorah! So, what better way to celebrate than painting our nails mint green.  I was extremely excited about this challenge as my nails have been covered in dark reds, blacks and nude colours all winter, so it’s time for a splash of colour.  I used Sally Hansen Nail Polish in Green Tea, I love the brush but I did have to apply 3 coats.  I feel this particular green is too light for me, I prefer darker and greener mints.  I love all the sorbet shades that are out at the minute so I give this a big fat yes.

Neelam – I’ve never tried mint nails before as the colour has never appealed to me. However now that Spring is officially here and the sun is shining, I felt it was the perfect time to try. I used Barry M’s Mint Green – it was easy to apply but I did need 3 coats to make it fully opaque. I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised by how much I like mint coloured nails – they make me so excited for summer! Although I think the shade is verging more on green than mint so I’d love to try a more classic mint shade such as Essie’s Mint Candy Apple.

Amrita – Anytime we have nails as our ‘Can-Can’t-Don’t’ trend to try I am always for it because I am a self confessed nail polish junkie. I don’t care whether it’s green, brown, white or pink – I’m all over it! I love mint nails around this time of year and I’ve gone through my fair share of polishes trying to find the perfect mint and while my go-to shade (O.P.I ‘Gargantuan Green Grape’) went all gloopy on me so I had to bin it, this Bourjois number comes in at a close second. It’s called Amande Defile and is the perfect vibrant mint green polish in my collection at the moment so I definitely recommend it to anyone and everyone who wants to give mint green polishes a try!

Verdict: Can
