Milan Fashion Week has ended, and now all eyes will be fixated on Paris Fashion Week, which will mark the end of the most eagerly anticipated month in the fashion calendar! Phew, we have almost made it through people!
But it isn’t just on the catwalk where new fashion trends are seen and the next supermodel is born (move over Cara Delevingne, enter Kendall Jenner)! But along these runways where effortlessly chic silhouettes take over, the next season’s beauty trends are created too!
While we would love to sit here and talk about every beauty trend that graced the runway this September it would most probably bring us into the fashion weeks of February 2015. So for now we just want to share with you our most loved look, trends to look out for, and of course those looks that should be left on the catwalk!
No Make up at Marc:
Now, we are not saying to throw away your make-up bags just yet, because lets face it, we are serious beauty addicts with one too many lipsticks and bronzers to be discarding just yet.
However, saying that we have to take note of Marc Jacobs and Francois Nars!
Every season the whole ’no make-up- make-up’ trend is key, so it was only a matter of time when this look was taken literally. Models were cascaded down the runway, make-up free with nothing but moisturising lotion on to feed their skin.
Nars revealed backstage that the look on MJ’s runway this season was skincare.
‘It’s probably the only show in New York where we’re not going to apply any make-up. Absolutely no make-up whatsoever. Not one gram of make-up. Only moisturising lotion and that’s it…. We love the shine like you see on the nose, and around the eyes. It’s real life.’
Whilst we admire Nars and Marc for bringing this look to the runway, this will remain a fashion week highlight but not a trend we will be trying! We’re just not that brave! For now we will continue with the ‘no make-up make-up’ look.
Long Live Nude!
Next season’s nail trend is set to be nude, nude and some more nude! This classic yet strong hue literally took over the runways and was seen during Christopher Kane as well as ISSA, Tom Ford, Burberry, Roksanda and Antionio Berardi! Can this shade ever be beaten?
However, we cannot talk about nail trends and not mention Giles. The inspiration for their nail look was taken from their invitation, which displayed an assortment of characters from The Jungle Book. Their nail trend was not the classic moon manicure, but instead a second colour was painted straight across each nail, to create a plastic and very shiny look (a great technique that we will be trying here at CCD Beauty HQ). The colours used were also that of nocturnal and deep -sea hues!
A few hair trends to note!
It’s fair to say that Kendall Jenner has dominated the runways during this year’s summer shows, so of course we have to mention the world’s most talked about model.
We absolutely loved her hair during the Pucci show. Not only was her skin glowing, but her hair was all about the healthy, wealthy look. Styled in the favoured middle parting, her hair was shiny and flowing free with the odd subtle wave to bring slight volume to the overall look. Definitely one to try for S/S 15.
Another hair trend, which just screamed S/S was seen over at Fendi! We loved the use of playful blue eyeliner but it was the hair that Brit super-stylist Sam McKnight created that caught our eye. Textured ponytails accessorised with floral hair pieces are set to be a key trend next season; a perfect look for Festival season too!
The show we loved!
And here’s to the show we loved the most…Moschino! Last year Jeremy Scott brought us McDonalds’s and Spongebob and this year he brought us Barbie! Oh how we love Jeremy Scott.
Models came alive and personality was seen on the catwalk, along with an abundance of Pink. Obvs! This show had every girly girl shriek with excitement and if the show is anything to go by, next season you will see us CCD Beauty girls, walking down Oxford Street with oversized blonde beehives, pink lips and covered head to toe in shimmer and ruffles!
Roll on Fashion Week February 2015!!
